According to the agronomists of the Volos Regional Plant Protection Center, the disease causes drying of the year's twigs, necrosis of the eyes and brown irregular to circular spots on the leaves. Wet and rainy weather (during the vegetative period) is necessary for infections to occur. The experts suggest removing and destroying by fire all the affected shoots (regardless of the season), as soon as the symptoms appear, to reduce and eliminate the overwintering foci of the pathogen. In the chemical measures, 2-3 sprays are recommended in autumn, the first with leaf fall, the second immediately after pruning and the third during dormancy in winter.
